Mae’s, St. Andrew’s, Smith’s Church in winners’ row

Play in the AL Sport & Tour Promotions / Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport Primary Schools Windball Cricket Championships continued yesterday with more matches in the Georgetown Zone, at the National Gymnasium.

In results of the matches played:

Former two-time champions Mae’s defeated St Pius by 9 wickets.

St Pius batted first and made 71-0, with Aishah McKenzie 51 and Onesha Downer 20, the principal scorers.

Mae’s in reply knocked off the required runs, ending on 73-1. Latoya Berkley hit 38 and Chelsea Edghill supported with 32.

St. Andrew’s beat St. Ambrose by 12 runs.

St Andrews compiled 65-3. Andriska Mickle stroked a top score of 40. Jevina Sampson picked up 2-15.

St Ambrose in their turn at the crease, were restricted to 53-3. J. Sampson returned with the bat to smash 20, while Kimeka Beveney contributed 16. Carlissa Boyce grabbed 2-14.

Smith’s Church eased past North Georgetown by 9 wickets

North Georgetown made 57-0 batting first, with Latifa Henry hitting a top score of 48, while her partner Queen Latifa Holder made 9.

Smith Church in reply, closed on 60-1. Chimaine Collins 34 not out and Makeda Bourne 16 not out were the batters still there at the end.

Play in the competition continued yesterday, at the same venue in the Boys category, while the Girls section action is scheduled for tomorrow from 09:30 hrs.
