Dear Editor,
A matter of only a few months from now, the world will once again be in for a special treat with Beijing 2008 Olympians and medalists competing at the 2009 World Championship in Germany which should be highly contested.
This is another event which is an ideal family oriented sports entertainment and it is indeed one of those special moments to see all nations standing side by side during the ceremonies and competing, which has always been the excitement of sports.
I also hope that the Golden Arrowhead is represented and of course, qualifying times are mandatory. So, to the potential hopefuls, get in gear.
Being clueless about the system surrounding the broadcast rights, interested television stations having an interest could have their personnel begin some research on this issue. I call on the business community to give this event some consideration with sponsorship support and I see this venture as a decent “AUGUST HOLIDAY STIMULUS OR GIVE BACK” to supporters of your respective businesses who couldn’t afford to go on a holiday because of the global financial meltdown.
To top it all, maybe we can also have the opportunity to view the World Junior Championship in Italy, which is just a couple of weeks before the one mentioned above.
