Wales stabbing… Police still hunting suspect

Police on the West Bank of Demerara, have said they are still working on all possible leads to locate the suspect in last month’s killing at Wales.
To date, investigators said they have failed to locate the suspect who stabbed and killed 39-year-old Redwin Europe.
Europe was stabbed on May 16, last, while attending a fair at the Wales Community Centre Ground.
According to a source close to the investigations, information indicate that the suspect may have fled to neighbouring Suriname.

A few days after the incident, investigators reportedly went to a house in Albouystown, after receiving information that the suspect was hiding out there. However, they came up empty-handed.
In the meantime, investigators say that they are still working on all possible leads which may lead to an arrest.
Initial reports had stated that the incident reportedly stemmed from a gambling dispute, which occurred at the Wales Community Centre Ground during a fair.

Europe and the suspect betted $500, and Europe won the game.
However, the suspect grabbed back his money, thus, leading to a scuffle between the two men.
People in the vicinity intervened and the squabble ended.
However, some time after, while Europe was sitting on an old refrigerator, the man with whom he had the scuffle with earlier, attacked him with a knife.
Europe was dealt a single stab wound to his back and fell to the ground. He was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
