An interdicted Tactical Service Unit constable is to be charged in connection with the multi-million dollar robbery that was recently committed on cambio dealer Ramesh Bhagoo.
The rank was detained a few days ago after reportedly being on the run. He was interdicted earlier this year in another armed robbery case.
Recently, a TSU rank and another suspect were remanded
Bhagoo, who plies his trade on America Street, was allegedly robbed at gunpoint last month at the corner of Broad and Saffon Streets in Charlestown.
According to reports, the businessman was standing outside his vehicle when two armed men ordered him to lie on the ground and then sped away with Bhagoo’s Rav 4, which contained large sums of cash and jewellery.
The vehicle was found abandoned in Le Repentir Cemetery near the Mandela Avenue dumpsite.
