Stephen Chappell was denied bail on Wednesday when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
It was alleged that the accused, on May 23, at Mazaruni District had in his possession 729 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking in narcotics.
He pleaded not guilty.
Police Prosecutor, Robert Clement, asked that the accused be remanded and that the matter be transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court. He was remanded to prison and is expected to make another court appearance on June 9.
