National middle-order batsman Assad Fudadin stroked an accomplished 55, while Renrick Batson took 4-29 to spur hosts Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB) to victory over Albion last Sunday, in the Telenec Berbice 50-over first division cricket competition.
Fudadin got support from Michael Hicks (32) as RHTWSB fell for 205 in 49 overs with Narsingh Deonarine taking 3-32. Hemant Rabindradat and left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul supported with two wickets each for Albion, who were bowled out for 145 in 36 overs.
Former Guyana 20/20 player Imran Khan smashed 4 sixes and 3 fours in a cameo 44 while Permaul made 28.
Former West Indies under-19 Captain Andre Percival and Troy Mathieson supported Batson with the ball by taking two wickets each.
At Number 70 Village, Upper Corentyne (UC) led by half centuries from Deoprakesh Ramdat (67) and Romel Dowlat (50), beat Scotsburg United (SU) by 70 runs in a game reduced to 45 overs per side due to excessive preparation moisture in the pitch.
UC made 250-7, as Essequibo left-arm spinner Robert Moore took 3-26 and Junior McAlmont 2-32.
SU fell for 220 in 41 overs despite 48 from Peter Grimes and 34 from Moore. Ramdat crowned a fine all-round performance by taking 4-22, while Bheem Singh and Chris Bollers captured two wickets each.
At Skeldon, Port Mourant got past the home team by 41 runs after posting 212 in 44.5 overs and dismissing Skeldon for 181 off 40.1 overs.
Shameer Khan (47), Poorendra Debidyal (28), Rajenda Bolo (27) and Devendra Thakurdeen (23) offered fight as Clinton Pestano took 2-20.
Christopher Jaundo’s 63, with assistance from Nirmal Khan (39) kept Skeldon in the hunt, but Yougindra Harrinarine (4-31) and Niroj Singh (2-27) ensured Skeldon fell short.
At Blairmont, Police defeated the home team by 39 runs after making 172 in 37 overs and bowling out Blairmont for 143.
Deon Farley made 32 and Jerry Heyliger 24 for the cops; Nadesh Basdeo took 4-21, Ramesh Boodhoo 2-22 and Karamdat Bissoondial 2-48.
Christopher Kewley top scored with 44 and got support from Bissoondial (36) as Michael Newland captured 3-31 and Adel Doris 2-20.
In the other game played Sunday, hosts Edbinburgh beat Bermine by three wickets.
Bermine, led by 95 from Keion De Jesus, 33 from Essequibo player Andrew Williams and 25 from former Berbice off-spinner Sean Devers, made 239-9 off 50 overs.
Zaheer Hussain took three wickets for Edbinburgh who made 243-7 to register consecutive wins at the first division level.
Shafiq Khan scored a responsible 73, while Bridelall made 47. Berbice Under-19 off-spinner Joemal La Fleur took 2-49 and Devers 2-26.
