South Essequibo defeated Central Essequibo by 121 runs, as the Alfred Maycock Over-40, 20/20 competition continued on the Essequibo Coast recently.
Played at the Affiance No.1 ground, South Essequibo batting first, made 211-8 off their allotted 20 overs. Dawanand Madhoo top scored with 76, while Linden Daniels supported with 38, Terrence Paul 26 and Thomas Chand 21.
D. Rajah took 2-26 and M. Ghanie 2-53 for Central Essequibo, as they were bowled out for 90 in 13.2 overs.
N. Deonarine scored 41 as Madhoo returned with the ball to capture 3-9, while Thomas Chand bagged 3-23 and Terrence Paul 2-22 for the winners.
