Rajesh Adhar slams unbeaten 115 for No. 65
The 2008 New Building Society Challenge Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition, organised by the Berbice Cricket Board for teams in the Ancient County is continuing.
Adelphi of East Canje and Tain of Port Mourant have become the latest teams to reach the last 16 play-offs of the competition after they won their latest preliminary matches to emerge as winner of their respective zones.
In Zone G – Adelphi firstly defeated Young Guns of Susannah by 110 runs, in their 20-Overs-a-side match thanks mainly to Avinash Khandai (58) and offspinner Michael Butcher (5 for 15) and then they disposed of Palmyra Young Strikers by 66 runs, while in Zone J Tain registered a comfortable 7 wicket win over Johns.
Highlighting play in other matches played was the 115 N.O (12 fours and 5 sixes) slammed by Rajesh Adhar for No. 65 in their match against No. 64 Moonmen. His contribution together with 55 from Rajendra Chandradat helped No. 65 reach 252 for 5 in their allotted 35 Overs. Their offspinner then took 6 for 13 from 5 Overs to route the Moonmen for 73 in their response.
Other batsmen registering half centuries were Mahendranauth Vincent of No. 71, Vickey Veerasammy of Fyrish Road, Tosho Forrester of Big Star, Vincent Chattergoon of Strykers and Jainauth Chandelall of Woodley park Young Strikers.
