A Radika craze has been ignited in Guyana recently with the arrival of the Trinidadian chutney queen Raywattie Ramroop and troupe to tell Guyanese at several shows, why ‘she had ah right to leave and go’.
The sexy vocalist will have two live call-in programmes on RCA Channel TV at 20:30 hrs tonight and tomorrow so that the public can be cleared as to the true identity of the singer.
This time around Raywattie and her troupe will unleash ‘Radika fire’ at the Anna Regina Community Centre Ground, Essequibo on May 26 (Independence Day). The chutney diva will team up with Guyana’s reigning soca monarch, Shelly ‘G’ to ignite a chutney/soca inferno that will engulf everything in its path. Shelly ‘G’ will also be launching her new album ‘Work it’ and will fling 50 copies into the gyrating audience.
While top security will be present at the venue, music will be provided by the Upsetter Sound System and Guyana’s number one Crossover Band, Shakti Strings Orchestra.
Also slated on to perform is Ameer Khan of Suriname, Pooran, Celia Samaroo, Krishna Seeram, Avinash on Keyboard and other top chutney/soca singers and dancers.
Admission to this event is set at $500 and children under twelve will pay $200. Gates open from 15:00 hrs and Showtime is set for 19:00 hrs.
