Police hunt two UG staffers following theft of laptop, projector

Police are presently looking for two employees of the University of Guyana as they probe the theft of a laptop computer and a projector from at the Learning Resource Centre at the university. It was learnt that the items which were housed in the bottom flat of the centre were used up to Wednesday.
The items were discovered missing Thursday morning when a staff member reported for work and upon opening the door to the bottom flat, noticed the items were not there.
It was learnt that the guards first saw an identifiable staff enter the centre through the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor by way of an inside door.
It was further learnt that another person subsequently entered the centre by the same means.
The two then left with full bags, although when they entered, their bags appeared to be empty.
The inside door was ajar when staff reported for work Thursday morning, but they thought nothing of it.
The two workers who are the prime suspects did not report for work yesterday.
The police were called in and are currently looking for the two employees who have been identified from photographs shown to the guards as the persons who had entered the centre.
