Another competitive and entertaining day is anticipated at today’s Oasis Café sponsored Stableford tournament at the Lusignan Golf Club, Lusignan Village, East Coast of Demerara.
Several players have been showing tremendous form so far this season and a very close contest in expected.
Among the front runners are Lester Alvis who won last weekend’s Citizens Bank tournament, Brian Hackett, Jerome Khan, Gavin Todd, Clifford Reis, Mike Guyadin, Christine Sukhram, Andre Cummings, Mark Lashley, Robert Hanoman and Dr. Ram Singh, who have all been among the prize winners this year.
They are however expected to face still opposition from seasoned campaigners Alfred Mentore, Maurice Solomon, Patrick Prashad, Imran Khan, Chatterpaul Deo, Mike Mangal, Colin Ming, Geert Hiekens, B. Deo, Ronald Bulkan, Mel Sankies, Carlos Adams, Ian Gouveia and the ever trying Joann Deo, Melissa Humphrey, Albert Semple and Brian Gladford.
Proprietor of Oasis Café William Walker, an ardent golf player, is also expected to be among the starters. .
Thirty eight players competed in last week’s tournament and officials of the Lusignan Golf Club disclosed that they are expecting a larger field this weekend, as the weather continues to be fine and golfers are eager to participate.
There will be the regular tournament briefing 10 minutes before starting time.
Tee off is 12:30 hours.
Due to a mix up in the media information received on today’s tournament, Kaieteur Sport had mistakenly published a story indicating that Citizens Bank sponsored the event, when in fact in should have been Oasis Café. We would like to apologise to the sponsors, even though it was not our fault.
