Moses Glasgow, 32, of Third Street, Alexander Village, was remanded to prison after he was slapped with two counts of robbery under arms.
Appearing before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, he was not required to plead to one charge of armed robbery.
It was alleged that the accused, on April 30, while armed with a gun, robbed Quacy Collins of two cell phones worth $70,000 and $35,000 in cash. It was also alleged that on the same day he robbed Rochelle Roach of a $2.4M motor car.
Glasgow was represented by attorney at law Roger Yearwood, who in a bail application, told the court that his client is an events coordinator and is the father of four minors, who solely depend on him.
The lawyer further stated that Glasgow has an unblemished record and that someone, who is said to be a known felon, attempted to sell his client a car.
He said that his client has cooperated fully with the police.
However Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith objected to bail adding that the virtual complainant was robbed at a traffic light. She said that her facts differ from what the defence counsel stated.
Bail was denied and the matter will be called again on Monday.
