The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) opens a two- day visit to Region Five, West Coast Berbice today.
A women’s workshop at the Regional boardroom from 09:30 hrs and a meeting with the Regional Executive, the Regional Democratic Council, Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), and all other levels of leadership within the region including the business, social sector and religious organisations, are on the agenda.
Officers will also be available to receive complaints from residents in keeping with the Commission’s Constitutional mandate.
The ERC Public Education and Awareness Unit will be involved in hosting film festivals for schools spanning West Coast Berbice.
A special youth meeting will be held at the Regional boardroom tomorrow at 14:00 hrs.
This visit to Region Five forms part of the ERC’s proactive work to promote harmony and good relations.
