Abdullah Hamid recorded an emphatic victory against Joe Chapman yesterday for Linden Amateur Basketball Association’s (LABA) Presidency at the Annual General Meeting and Elections at the Mackenzie Sports Club pavilion.
From reports reaching Kaieteur Sport, Hamid won hands down with a 20-plus vote while Chapman merely had approximately six votes. Hamid’s entire slate was also elected since Chapman contested the Presidency without a slate.
Among those elected to the other posts are Bryan Lewis, Carwyn Holland, Keane Adams, Haslyn Graham, Beverly McDonald, Randy Norris, Aston Angel and Floyd Martindale. Up to press time their positions were not clear.
