Even as the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport Inter-Block football hits full gear on the East Coast and East Bank of Demerara, action is set to swing to the interior location of Mahdia later this month.
The Mahdia Inter-Block is set for May 25 and 26 and features four teams. Defending champions Air Strip will be hard pressed by the other three teams to keep their crown. The other teams involved are Central Mahdia, Campbelltown and Roger Hinds Lions.
All the games will be contested under floodlights and an exciting two days of football is anticipated. The winning teams on opening night advance to the final, while the losers clash in a play-off for third.
A number of business houses in the area are lending support, as was the case in the first edition of the tournament last year.
