Dave Martins, internationally renowned musician, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Manniram Prashad, and discussed his intentions to further promote Guyana on the international scene.
The visit by Dave Martin came on the heels of an Events and Entertainment Forum hosted at the Guyana International Conference Centre (GICC) by President Bharrat Jagdeo who challenged hoteliers, entertainers, promoters, resort owners, tour operators, airlines, theater producers/directors, pageant coordinators and artistes to brainstorm ideas to have a series of events during specified periods of the year to boost tourism.
During the meeting with Minister Prashad, Dave Martins shared some suggestions of how he thinks Guyana can market itself through a series of entertainment events.
Minister Prashad took note of the suggestions by Dave Martins who will work closely with the Tourism Ministry to boost entertainment activities during peak tourism seasons.
