Defending champions Fruta Conquerors will open this year’s Courts Pee-Wee Under-11 Football Competition against Santos in the first of four matches planned for this Saturday, at the Thirst Park ground.
The other three matches scheduled to be played in the first round are: Marian Academy versus Renaissance; Sunburst Camptown tackle Thomas United and newcomers Pele take on recently crowned U-15 champions Uprising.
Organisers, the Guyana Football Association during the launching stated that the competition will be played on a round robin basis using FIFA, CONCACAF and the GFF rules.
The winning team will cart off a trophy and 10 footballs; runner-up- a trophy and 5 footballs; third place- a trophy and 3 footballs and fourth place- a trophy and a ball and a shin guard.
Additionally, individual prizes will be presented to the tournament’s MVP, Highest Goal-scorer, Best Goalkeeper, Fair Play and the Most Supportive Parent.
Matches start at 13:00 hrs.
