Robert Rawlins, of Kingston Squatting Area, Corriverton; Amad Munir, of No. 72 Village, Corriverton; John Lewis, of No. 79 Village, Corriverton; and Romel Hawad, of No. 79 Village, have been charged with five counts of robbery under arms and possession of firearm without licence.
They have also been charged with and possession of ammunition without licence.
Rawlins, Munir and Lewis appeared before Magistrate Krisendatt Persaud at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Amad Munir pleaded guilty to the firearm and ammunition charges and was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on both charges which will run concurrently.
They others were remanded to prison until May 28, 2009.
An arrest warrant was issued for Romel Hawad who has not yet been arrested.
The charges result from investigations conducted into an armed robbery committed on the owner and patrons at the Dutchie’s Restaurant and Bar at Corriverton on May 9.
