Father refused bail on buggery charges

A 48-year-old father of Port Kaituma, North West District, has been remanded to prison on a charge of buggery.
It was alleged that between August 1, 2007 and April 22, 2009 at Port Kaituma the man sodomised his eight-year-old son.
It was further alleged that the defendant between August 1 and August 22, 2007 at Port Kaituma sodomised his 10-year-old son. He was not required to plead to the indictable offences.
He was remanded and is expected to make another court appearance on August 5.
The matter was transferred to the Matthews Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
The man was arrested after the eldest child went to the police station and made a report against his father.
A source had told Kaieteur News that the father would show x-rated movies and commit the act on the young boys.
