Another foreign national has been nabbed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, trying to smuggle out cocaine.
This time, a Jamaican woman was held with 2.2 kilograms of the drug while being an outgoing passenger at about 05:10 hours yesterday.
The drug, which was concealed in the woman’s suitcase, was found by ranks from the Police-Anti Narcotics Branch.
The woman will be charged shortly.
Several persons were nabbed at the airport including a number of Jamaicans. Just a week ago, two American women were held with drugs strapped to their bodies.
One of them has already pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
