Father faces buggery charges

A fifty-two-year old father of Port Kaituma, North West District is expected to appear in court this week after investigations revealed that he was in the habit of sodomising his two sons aged 11 and 9.
According to an official from the Ministry of Social Services the father was arrested after the older child went to the Police Station and reported the matter.
As the child was making the report, a Ministry official was present and thus the Ministry took an immediate interest into the matter.
According to sources, the father had been committing the act since 2007, and had done so as recent as two weeks back.
The source further told Kaieteur News that the father would show x-rated movies and commit the act on the young boys.
A Ministry official told Kaieteur News that they would be working feverishly to eradicate such persons from the society.
“We are working around the clock to take people like this off the streets and put them behind bars, because we need to ensure that our children are safe”, the official stated.
