The Management of the Princess International Hotel, the new owners of Buddy’s International Hotel, yesterday donated $200,000 to the Kids First Fund.
Operations Manager, Oguz Tayanc makes the donation to Patricia Springer, a beneficiary of open-heart surgery (right).
Operations Manager, Oguz Tayanc made the presentation to Patricia Springer and her three-year-old daughter, Akila Smith, who are to benefit from heart surgeries arranged by Kids First Fund.
Marketing and Guest Relations Manager, Liz Rahaman, said that the Princess Hotel is pleased to make a contribution to saving a life.
She also said that management plans to have collaborations with Kids First Fund in the future because it is a worthwhile cause.
Rahaman added that Kids First Fund was launched in 2005 and some 45 children and 14 adults have benefited from the works of the founder, Varshnie Singh.
Singh thanked Princess Hotel and all the other persons who have made donations, for their contributions. She also noted that Kids First Fund is taking 10 children and two adults to India for open-heart surgery later this month.
Singh added that the estimated cost of these surgeries is US$89,200 and the airfare is US$30,000.
According to her, they return in June after which they have to raise the money to pay for the surgeries.
