Death of GPL Chief Security Officer…
Justice Frank Holder has granted an order nisi directed to police Commissioner Henry Green to produce prisoner, Arnim Joseph Griffith, by Monday at 11: 30 before him.
Joseph was detained last Tuesday about 14:30hrs in Sophia for a motorcycle for which he did not have the relevant documents.
He was later transferred to the Brickdam lock ups and subsequently placed on identification parade and allegedly identified as a suspect in the killing of GPL security head Clifford Peters last Monday.
His attorney, Basil Williams, said that his client was put on ID parade to make up numbers. The judge ordered that the prisoner be produced on Monday to show possible cause why he should not be released.
At the time of Peters’ killing, Williams said his client was at the gym in the company of a senior police official. Williams petitioned the judge by writ of Habeas Corpus filed Friday. The suspect is said to be a bodybuilder and a part time model.
On Friday, Kaieteur News reported that Police believe they have caught one of the men involved in the killing of GPL Chief Security Officer, Clifford Peters, in Lamaha Park last Monday.
The suspect, a 23-year-old resident of West Ruimveldt, was arrested on Wednesday and is being detained at the Brickdam Police Station.
