A man from the Essequibo Coast is currently a patient at the Suddie Hospital after he was chopped in the face during an argument over a cellular phone at Queenstown.
Reports are that 35-year-old Dennis Marks, of Queenstown, was chopped on Wednesday last around 17:00 hrs. by a man he knew.
Marks reportedly confronted his attacker for a cellular phone, which he had lent the suspect. An argument ensued and moments later the suspect left and returned with a cutlass then dealt Marks a chop to his face and fled the area.
Public-spirited citizens rushed the wounded Marks to the Suddie Hospital.
The suspect is still at large and police have launched a manhunt for him. Marks’ condition has been listed as stable.
