– Company extends support to outlying regions
Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Banks Beer Division One winners, BK Western Tigers were conspicuously absent from the presentation ceremony which was conducted in the Boardroom of sponsor Banks DIH yesterday.
According to General Secretary of the GFA Marlan Cole, all the respective winners were informed via writing and verbal communication so he was not in a position to offer a reason for the club’s absence.
Also present at the occasion were Brand Manager Brian Choo-Hen, Public Relations Officer Troy Peters and club representatives.
Speaking during the ceremony, Sales & Marketing Executive of the Company Carlton Joao reminded those present about the significance of the beer which he referred to as being synonymous with Guyana and because of this identity, the entity sees it as its responsibility to play a meaningful role in the development of sports.
He assured that they will continue the relationship with the GFA, before heaping praises on the Body for a well run tournament. “Indeed, it was an extremely wonderful competition and the GFA must be commended for this,” Joao remarked. “Their work has been exemplary and we look forward to strengthening the partnership in the future.”
Joao disclosed further that Banks DIH will also be extending their support to the outlying regions as well, adding that the support for sports will continue in places such as Essequibo and Berbice.
