Several pairs emerged on top in play in the Guyana Badminton Association West Indian Sports Complex Annual Junior Tournament, which started at the Queens College Auditorium on May 1 and concluded yesterday.
The age group doubles tournament, which was very well attended, was played in a very competitive frame and the players showed their true talent on the court. The Ramdhani and Khalil siblings featured prominently among the players teaming up to record victories.
The Finals Matches were as follows:
Under-11 Boys Doubles Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani/Shane Shewjattan defeated Diquan Naughton/Armand Ramdhani: 21-10, 21-8
Under-11 Girls Doubles Finals:
Priyanna Ramdhani/Emma Vieira defeated Rebecca Low/Maya Persram: 21-8, 21-13
Under-13 Boys Doubles Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani/Andrew Peroune defeated Amandeep Alvis/Christopher Shewjattan: 21-12, 21-9
Under-13 Girls Doubles Finals:
Priyanna Ramdhani/Mariah Low defeated Greer Jackson/Angelica Holder: 21-9, 22-20
Under-15 Boys Doubles Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani/Jason-Ray Khalil defeated Andrew Peroune/Kevin Quaicoe: 21-16, 21-9
Under-15 Girls Doubles Finals:
Anissa Rodrigues/ Tashana Lowe defeated Priyanna Ramdhani/Anuradha Odit: 21-14, 21-5
Under-17 Boys Doubles Finals:
Nicholas Ali/Avian Rodrigues defeated Narayan Ramdhani/Jason-Ray Khalil: 21-18, 21-15
Under-17 Girls Doubles Finals:
Anissa Rodrigues/Ashley Khalil defeated Tashana Lowe/Anuradha Odit: 21-5, 21-4
The presentation of prizes will be done today at the Queens College Badminton Courts from 6:00 pm.
