Police yesterday took first innings points from Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) on the first day of their Raymond Panday second division two-day cricket competition game at the Police ground Eve Leary.
Devon McEwan top scored with 34 and got support from Randy Lindore as MSC fell for 129 on a slow track. Medium pacer Fitzroy Culley captured 5-17 and got support from left-arm spinner Latchman Persaud and national under-17 off-spinner Ricardo Devers who took two wickets each.
An unbeaten 32 from Dwayne McPherson then spurred the Cops to 135-5 by the close after Munilall Persaud (22), Rawle Browne (19), Cecil Adams (18) and Devers (17) all failed to build on starts.
