A 51-year-old welder had to be rushed to the Woodlands Hospital yesterday after he was badly injured while working at BOSAI Minerals Guyana Inc. at Linden.
According to reports, Joseph Abrams, of South Amelia’s Ward, was welding a large metal plate when it slipped and struck him.
Abrams reportedly suffered four broken ribs, injuries to his back as well as to his head.
He was rushed to Georgetown by ambulance and admitted to the Woodlands Hospital.
A relative told Kaieteur News that the patient is conscious and that the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
