The R.K Security guard who was questioned about the death of Julian Embrack has reportedly told investigators that his colleague was unhappy about the way some of his superiors were treating him.
Police officials confirmed that the guard, who resides on East Coast Demerara, was released on Monday.
Investigators are waiting for an autopsy as well as results on tests for gunpowder residue that they conducted on Embrack and the guard they had detained.
Although Embrack’s firearm was found near his body, the fact that four rounds were discharged has aroused suspicion of foul play.
Kaieteur News understands that in his statement, the guard claimed that the 30-year-old Visiting Inspector had complained that some superior officers constantly shouted at him.
It is alleged that the guard claimed that on the night of Embrack’s demise, a senior officer had berated him for arriving late.
According to this report, Embrack told his colleague that he “wasn’t able any more”.
The guard claimed that he was in the Diamond Secondary School when he heard a gunshot outside.
He went to check and found Embrack lying dead on the northern parapet of the roadway.
A police release said that Embrack’s R.K. Security Service revolver along with four spent shells and one live round was found near his body.
While police stated that Embrack lived in Regent Street, Kaieteur News confirmed yesterday that he last resided in a building, owned by R.K’s Security Service, at Supply, East Coast Demerara
Embrack’s relatives are continuing to express skepticism about suggestions that he committed suicide and are calling for a thorough investigation into his death.
However, they disclosed that R.K’s Security Services is financing the wake and the funeral.
