The role of administrative professionals employed at Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T), has been lauded by management.
The tribute came as part of activities to mark a week of observances.
In what has become a tradition within the company, GT&T joined sister organisations worldwide in saluting the work of these professionals in observance of Administrative Professionals Week 2009.
Chief Executive Officer, Major General (ret’d) Joseph Singh, joined managerial colleagues at a specially arranged breakfast ceremony to honour these members of staff who, through their work, contributed solidly to the efficient operation of the company.
The CEO praised the dedication of the professionals, particularly in ensuring that the work of their bosses is completed in a timely manner.
Mr. Singh, highlighting this year’s theme, ‘Excellence in Action’, said that it is appropriate since it aptly described the employees, especially those who are required to undertake multiple tasks.
He also lauded their effectiveness and efficiency in ensuring that the work of the Company is carried out in a smooth and disciplined manner.
