WBC # 10, WBO # 15 and WBA # 12 rated Super Bantamweight Leon “Hurry Up” Moore will be fighting in Linden on May 5 as Holland Entertainment Promotion (HEP) stages a boxing card at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground in Linden.
Moore will be using this match as a warm-up for his upcoming world title fight in the USA later this year and will face heavier former national contender Mark Murray in an eight round catchweight contest.
The card will also feature Commonwealth Contender and overseas based Lindener Shawn Corbin, who returns to fight in front of his home fans, national heavyweight champion Mitchell Rogers, popular Lindener Cassius Matthews, and an exciting exhibition match between 300 pounders Fahaad Ali of Linden and Shawn Harris of Georgetown.
According to a HEP release, over eight thousand patrons are expected as such attendance was previously registered the last time HEP staged an exhibition match in Linden (Fathead vs. Boney).
This card dubbed “The Big Showdown” is also being hastily arranged in order to keep Guyana’s only locally based World rated fighter active and ready for his turn at the helm of the 122 lbs division. Moore is being managed by Carwyn Holland and Australian Michael Altamura, with world renowned Cameron Dunkin as his advisor.
