Member of the local Management Committee set up to co-ordinate activities for the Inter-Guianas Games, Hassan Mohamed, reported to Kaieteur Sport yesterday shortly after their arrival, that applause must be extended to the Guyana Police Force.
Mohamed explained that both the Immigration and other ranks of the GPF performed outstandingly in providing top-class service, first at the initial port of entry as well as access throughout the journey to Georgetown where the teams are currently staying, at the Ocean View International Hotel.
“The entire journey went well and this was due to the splendid work that was done by members of the Police Force,” Mohamed informed.
Meanwhile, after a rest this evening, the competition opens today with the March Past set for 10:00 hrs at the Eve Leary ground which will be followed by the commencement of track and field rivalry and football in the afternoon from 14:00 hrs at Camp Ayanganna.
