After retaining a deadly silence Lindeners, Shaundel ‘Dynamite’ Park and Avlon ‘The Executioner’ Scotland have finally come out with fighting words.
Park, who fights Shelly ‘The Boom’ Gibson, has boasted that she will knock out her opponent while Scotland has issued a similar warning to Debbie Tyson saying that she will not hear the final bell.
The two made these bold proclamations moments after completing a rigid training session at the Young Lions Boxing Gym, Half Mile Wismar, Wednesday evening last.
Both fighters sparred several rounds under the watchful eyes of their coach, Dirk Alexander. He said that his charges are good and ready to throw down the gauntlet and he is confident that they will come out victorious.
“Avlon is a younger fighter than Tyson and she will employ a lot of pressure tactics,” Alexander said. His charge was a little more out-spoken. “This woman could easily be my mother but come fight night I will be the one dishing out the blows,” Scotland said. As if to endorse her point she unleashed a flurry of punches on the heavy bag.
Both fighters said that they have prepared thoroughly for the bout and are in no mood to mete out mercy.
“The Boom will feel the power of these hands,” said Parks as she flexed her 52 inches biceps. This is the second time the two will clash and Gibson plans to avenge the loss which she said occurred because she was not properly trained.
Alexander said that his fighters have completed the bulk of their work and can hardly wait to get into the ring. However, both Tyson and Gibson also nurture ambitions of coming out victorious.
“Talk is cheap,” said Gibson. “I will do my talking when I enter the ring,” she assured. Tyson, who said that she was inspired by American President Barrack Obama’s words, ‘Yes you can’ will be out to prove that even though she is the more senior, she could pull off a win. “It is going to be a war,’ she prophesied.
The fights are scheduled for tomorrow night on the undercard of the Howard Eastman/Lennox Alleyne super/middleweight bout at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The weigh in and medical examination takes place tonight at the King’s Plaza, Main Street, hotel.
