Promoter Colin Mack would have to remain behind bars until Monday when his preliminary inquiry continues before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Yesterday as the matter continued, the virtual complainant continued to give evidence about the night in question.
After about an hour and half of testimony, the matter was adjourned for Monday.
Mack’s lead attorney, Glenn Hanoman, again made a bail application, but this was denied. The lawyer stated that the victim had already given the most pivotal part of her testimony and as such Mack should be admitted to his pretrial liberty.
The lawyer tried his best to reassure the court that Mack was not going to interfere with the victim while on bail, but bail was nevertheless denied by Magistrate Robertson.
Colin Mack is accused of having sex with the 19-year-old without her consent on April 12. He is still not required to plead to the charge.
According to police, the victim in a statement said that she was held against her will for several hours at a Festival City house. The teen said that she shouted for help, but no one came to her rescue even though there were houses in hearing distance.
She managed to escape after she hung her naked body through a window and attracted the attention of a taxi driver who came to her rescue.
