Netball, Basketball and another sport to be indentified by the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) will be the first to benefit from a special Trust Fund Guyana’s leading club will set up to assist National Sports Associations.
Making the announcement was RHTY&SC Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster on Tuesday afternoon in the Board Room of Western Union, Water Street.
The programme will be launched sometime in September and according to Foster, the club will be asking the selected association/federation to indentify two outstanding young athletes who will benefit in the form of a cash donation towards their continued development.
“As a club, our focus over the years has been cricket and we felt that it was time for us to go in the direction of assisting other disciplines. We hope to do this on a yearly basis.”
The RHTY&SC has been around for the past 18 years and has touched the lives of thousands of Guyanese not only in the Ancient County where they are based but throughout Guyana.
They have built up an enviable reputation as the top youth club in Guyana, the Caribbean and the Commonwealth.
