Dear Editor,
I have a lot of respect for the journalistic minds, who often go out on the limb and become the eyes, ears and mouths of the impoverish and forgotten in the extremely remote areas globally.
I have been in tuned with the reports of the US journalist, Roxana Saberi who was just sentenced to eight years in the Iranian Prisons, and what a joke for her case to be handled behind closed doors.
If the Muslim society in Guyana has some interest in this particular case on the basis of justice, they should come forward and prepare a petition for the release of that journalist to the Government of Iran.
I am certain that the elders’ request will definitely have some attention and impact on their counterparts at the other end.
The Caribbean Press Association might also need to raise its voice in the case surrounding the two US female journalists who were recently arrested in North Korea.
