Fifty-year-old Oag Persaud Hiraman, known as “Catman” and “Doodie” of Sans Souci Village, Wakenaam Island, collapsed and died at his home after complaining of chest pains.
This newspaper understands that Hiraman left for his farm at Cow Creek, Wakenaam, by boat, as was customary. During the course of the morning he reportedly collapsed at this farm after suffering a blackout.
He was assisted by his employees back to his home after he regained consciousness.
Hiraman then took a bath but began to suffer from chest pains. He died before his family could obtain transportation to take him to the Wakenaam Cottage Hospital.
The medex visited the home and confirmed the death. The body has since been taken to the Suddie Mortuary where a post mortem will be conducted next week.
The police are investigating.
