This newspaper, on April 15, on page 30, published an article entitled ‘GCA must investigate racial allegations against Travis Dowlin’.
Kaieteur News wishes to make it clear that the headline or contents of the article was never intended to be libelous or defamatory or to in anyway besmirch Mr. Dowlin’s good name.
If by virtue of any of the reading of the contents thereof so read to mean such of this newspaper, this was never the intention.
We hold the character of Mr. Dowlin in high esteem and absolutely not with any racial bias or characteristics.
Any inconvenience caused to Mr. Dowlin is hereby wholly regretted and most unfortunate.
The sole intention of the article was to encourage a speedy investigation into the allegations by the Demerara and Berbice Cricket Boards against Mr. Dowlin who is a National Cricketer.
