The Smalta Easter Junior Team Squash tournament served off on Wednesday evening at the Georgetown Club courts.
Twenty five junior squash players have been split into five teams and will compete against each other in a round robin format until Saturday evening. The Guyana Squash Association has chosen this tournament to implement the new scoring system changes, which have been adopted by the World Squash Federation, here games are now played to 11 points using point-a-rally scoring.
If there is a tie at 10-10, a player must then win by two points to claim the game. Two ties were played on Wednesday, and will be completed today with both Assassins and Power House holding slim 2-1 leads over Gangsters and Mitochondria respectively.
