Dear Editor,
I was reprimanded for the tone used in my correspondence carried in the dailies (4.15.2009) with reference to Cpt. R. Totaram, S. Manbodh, animal lovers and animal agencies.
In saying that, I will now publicly apologise to those mentioned above.
I am not the law and don’t think that owners such as Cpt. R. Totaram and others should spend any jail time, but because of the serious nature of damages that would have been caused to victims in the past and even death, they have to shoulder some responsibility.
The courts should at least past a ruling that owners should stand all expenses incurred and compensation given to the victims and families of any deceased.
Some commentaries on what approach should one take, when/if attacked by ferocious species of dogs would be welcomed.
T. Pemberton
