DEAR EDITOR,
Cpt. Ronnie Totaram, I am quite certain that there is a feeling of relief that the case against you being the owner of those ferocious dogs that attacked and killed Charles Roopchand has been discharged as stated in the KN issue of April 12, 2009.
Has it ever occurred to you that a decent compensation package to the family members would be a humane gesture on your behalf?
By the way, as I see it, the civil case will also be in your favour.
Syeada Manbodh (excuse me if your name is incorrectly spelt) and other animal agencies/lovers, would you people be so kind to educate and be vocal via the medium as to what precautions one must take if/when attacked by ferocious dogs?
God forbid, but should I have to be in a similar situation on the public road, I will be doing everything in my power to take down attacking dog/s and there is absolutely no one who would dare say to me that it is cruelty to animals.
As a matter of fact, I will not stand by and see any living human being attacked by ferocious dogs.
I do love animals, my preferences are for the ones with wings, and I am also against animals been ill-treated, but the focus is on those ferocious species.
T. Pemberton
