What was intended to be a casual visit at his paramour’s work site turned out to be a near fatal attack for a 32-year-old South Ruimveldt man after he caught his partner in a compromising position.
Shawn Haynes, of South Ruimveldt, managed to make his way to the Georgetown Public Hospital with a gaping wound to his head. He sustained the injury at the hands of another man.
According to Haynes, although he and the woman share a common law relationship, he had suspicions about her having an affair. He said every time he questioned her about the affair she would deny.
The injured man said yesterday he decided to pay his paramour, who works as a security guard at Eureka Labs, Thomas Street, a visit to see how she was doing.
He said that when he arrived there he saw her kissing another man in the security hut.
According to Haynes he went to the guard hut and called out for his partner but she refused to come out to him.
The man said the other man who was in the guard hut told him to leave but he insisted that he was not leaving until he spoke to his lady. Haynes added that the man in the guard hut then removed a louvre blade and threw it at him but it missed.
However the man removed a second windowpane and threw it at Haynes again, this time hitting him in the head.
The wounded man fled to avoid any further confrontation and made his way to the Georgetown Public Hospital with blood streaming down his back and face.
Up to press time Haynes was still being treated for his injury. However it is still not clear whether the suspect has been detained.
