The eagerly anticipated Power Boat races, one of the major highlights of the Bartica Regatta, are expected to be the biggest and best ever according to Sports Organiser Calmeth Young who spoke with Kaieteur Sport yesterday.
The races he said was normally held on one day, Easter Sunday, but the organising committee headed by Regional Chairman Holbert Knights felt the need to increase it to two days with more races being added.
Boats equipped with 25HP engines right up to unlimited will be catered for as will canoes which will be involved in sprints.
Jet Ski racing has been added for the first time and they will be in action tomorrow, Easter Monday.
The Power Boat races are expected to be fierce as usual with the Belle brothers, Steven, Monty, Randy and Peter among the leading contenders.
Raymond Rassoul along with Dave and Scott will also vie for the attractive trophies and cash prizes.
The venue is the Golden Beach circuit with race time set for 10:00hrs today and tomorrow.
