The female Windballers pose for Kaieteur Sport at the Guyana Teachers Union shortly before departure for Barbados.
A national female Windball Cricket Team departed Guyana last evening to participate in the 2009 West Indies Tournament in Barbados.
The team will be captained by the experienced Kattie Ann Punch, who will be playing in her fifth tournament at this level and will also include: Kavita Yadram, Damyantie Mohabir, Christina Henry, Carol Ketwaroo, Lisa Lewis, Faith Wintz, Samantha La Cruz, Natasha Fordyce, Susan Sukhu, Akaze Thompson, Kean Goodridge, Nicola Northe and Latchmi Williams.
Coach of the team is Nigel Hope, who will be making his first appearance in this position, while Kwebena Wright is Manager. The tour was made possible through the kind assistance of Guyana Teachers Union President Colwyn King, Basil Persaud and AL Sport & Tour Promotions. The competition will be a day and night affair.
