Next Sunday April 19, for the first time ever, there will be a female softball cricket match at the Crabwood Creek Cricket Ground. The game brings together Corriverton Queens and the Crabwood Creek Heroines.
At stake will be the Prakash Singh Memorial Trophy which is being sponsored by Ganesh Singh and Brothers Saw miller and loggers of Crabwood Creek and brothers of the deceased who passed away a year ago. The match is a 15 overs per innings affair and starts at 10:00am sharp and a keen contest is expected.
After this match there will be two more games when the Floodlight A & B team of Demerara takes on a Vishnu Super Store side and Scottsburg United.
Admission at the gate is $100 and children under 12 are free. Proceeds from these matches will go to the Crabwood Creek Sports Council for the improvement of their cricket ground.
Musical entertainment, food and drinks will also add to the exciting atmosphere.
Crabwood Creek Heroines Squad: Sherifa Hussain (Captain), Kavita De Andrade, Varsha Hartman, Padmani Singh, Yolana Peneue, Reona Peneue, Omwattie Somwary, Davica Singh, Nazema Garnet, Lovitta John, Kashminie Sawh, Megaila Singh, Naoia Khan, Jasmanie Samaroo and Dennis De Andrade (Manager/Coach).
The Corriverton Queens will announce their squad later.
