Photographer, Tony Kumar, 45, and his 22-year-old son, Samuel Tulasram, who allegedly drugged a 15-year-old Cotton Field Secondary School student and proceeded to take nude photos of her, walked free after their case was dismissed by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty for want of prosecution.
Both Kumar and Tulasram were charged indictably with indecent assault.
According to the police, on March 7, 2007, at Kumar photo studio at Anna Regina, the Hampton Court student left for school but didn’t make it to the learning institution. Instead she went to the studio with a change of clothing and asked the photographer to take a picture of her person.
The report further stated that Kumar took the photograph then offered the girl some cane juice after he allegedly administered a strong drug to the drink.
The girl, who appeared to be in an unconscious state all the time, was photographed in very indecent angles.
Counsel Dindyal, who represented the duo, said that both his clients respected the court by honouring their commitment faithfully for two years.
He also argued that the defendant showed no interest in the matter.
