GT&T Cellink Plus / Friends Inc. have teamed up once again to stage the 2nd Annual Easter-Break Charity Grass Track Race Meet, at the Ogle Community Centre Ground slated for April 25, starting from 16:30 hrs and finishes under floodlights.
According to Coordinator of Friends Inc. Charity Grass Track Planning Committee, Nicholas McLean, races that include the Sport Quads/4 wheelers are expected to feature in an anticipated exciting day that will also have most of the country’s top grass track riders.
Debut riders from Bartica will take on riders from Georgetown as 125 cc riders get airborne off a platform jump, and 80 cc Chappys, battle for position.
The Organisers are encouraging motor racing fans and spectators to come out and support a worthy cause as all proceeds will be given to various charities.
Also, fans will be eligible to win special gate prizes and cell phone deals compliments of major sponsor GT&T Cellink Plus.
Among those expected to represent Georgetown in the quad races are Steve Sugrim, Raphael DeGoeas, Jimmy Ten Pow, Kevin Narine, Brian Tiwari Jnr., Pucka Persaud and Chris McLean, while Bartica’s challenge will be led by last year’s champion Oliver Younge supported by Michael Martindale, Eon Christopher and a few young debutant riders.
The competition also heats up in the 125 cc 2 stroke bikes as Bartician Andrew Wong, who has been dominating this class, seeks to upset a line-up that is expected to feature such riders as Vassy Barry, Stephen Vieira, Charles Henry, Victor Pires, Dave Gangadin, Alvin Balgobin, Wayne Christiani, Ravi Singh, Haydock Parris, Jose Jardine, Chris Sawh, Gavin Guyandin, Mark Menezes, Gregory Lopes, Carlos Rodrigues, Andy Rajkarran, Joe Budram, Oliver Younge and Zaheer Sheriff.

Every year, the organisers plan giveaways of hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and expect a bumper Meet for this Easter Break as Grass Track fans, exam-weary students and families seek out an evening of fiery entertainment, fun and relaxation.
A VIP/Club House stand is also available with limited $1500 tickets to those who want the best view of the track and to be fully pampered on race day.
General entry tickets are $1000 and children $500.
The 6 races carded will feature 15- 25 laps, a serpentine race course and a platform jump for the first time in Georgetown so fans can expect airborne feats and 9-11 turns of non stop action.
