Two killed in Puruni accident

Up to press time, yesterday, police in Bartica were awaiting the arrival of the bodies of two persons who were killed after the vehicle in which they were traveling, crashed somewhere in the Puruni, Middle Mazaruni area.

While reports are still sketchy, this newspaper was told that the accident occurred some time around 11:00 hours yesterday while the vehicle was making its way out to Bartica.

Reports from the area stated that three others who were traveling in the vehicle were injured.

However up to late yesterday evening neither the bodies of the dead persons nor the injured persons had reached Bartica.

A police source however told this newspaper that efforts were being made to get the injured and the dead out of the location but there were some difficulties because of the condition of the trail heading to Bartica.

No one was able to provide the names of either the injured persons or those who died.
