The five (5) cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club on Sunday last made contributions to the Guyana Police Force, Rose Hall Town Constabulary and three other organisations during the club’s 18th Annual Award Ceremony which was held at the JC Chandisingh Secondary School, Rose Hall Corentyne.
The donations were done under the team’s Self Development Programme where each team is mandated by the club to undertake five (5) community projects each year.
The Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes under-15 team donated a bicycle to the Rose Hall Town Police Outpost.
The Rose Hall Town Pepsi under-19 team also donated a bicycle to the Rose Hall Constabulary Department while the Metro female team contributed $30,000 worth of sports gear (volleyball, basketball and table tennis) to the Whim Police Station Youth Club.
The Fyrish Day Care Center received $35,000 worth of toys, modules and educational materials while the RHT Windies Sports Bar also made a similar donation to the Eversham Day Care Center.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster at the presentation stated that the entity is committed to assisting other organisations in an effort to reach more youths across Berbice.
The donations to the Police Outpost and the Rose Hall Town Constabulary Department were done to assist security in the township especially at the Area ‘H’ Ground where the club’s office is situated.
