GRFU season opens today with Banks DIH Sevens

The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) will officially open its Rugby Season for 2009 with the Banks DIH Sevens Championships today at the National Park rugby field.
The Opening Ceremony and March Past of teams will commence at 11:00 a.m. and it is expected that the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony, will deliver the Opening Remarks. Welcome remarks will also come from President of the GRFU Noel Adonis and President of regional body WIRU, Christopher ‘Kit’ Nascimento and the Banks DIH Representative present.
The Banks DIH Championship trophy will be contested by Men’s and Women’s teams from Yamaha Caribs, Hornets and the Guyana Defence Force.
